These summer schools organised by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in Rennes,fall within the programme of the French Ministry of Higher education and Research called "Universités européennes d'été" or "Campus européen d'été" (in accordance with the new title prescribed by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research).
In view of the success of past European summer courses, the Jean Monnet Centre of excellence in Rennes is once again organising, from 1 to 12 September 2009, a “European summer campus”.
The main topic under discussion will be: “The European Union and world governance: which contribution with which actors?”.
This European summer ‘campus’ is being jointly organised by the Universities of Rennes 1 and Rennes 2, the Brittany branch of the Ecole normale supérieure of Cachan and Télécom Bretagne.
It has the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and will be open to 4th year (Master 2 level) and PHD students (embarking on a doctorate). It will offer a widely recognised programme of academic credits (4 ECTS). It will also welcome participants whose professional activity has a bearing on the topic under discussion.
Applicants must be fluent in French.

The tuition fees for this summer campus amount to 60 euros. Accommodation and Transport are not included in those fees. However, there is a possibility of housing in student dormitories. Moreover, alummni coming from cities twinned with Rennes can have accommodation grants financed by the city of Rennes.
